Gates Chili Central School District is proud to announce that Leigh Kamola has been named the New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (NYS TESOL) Staff Member of the Month for August 2025.

This statewide recognition celebrates Kamola’s outstanding dedication to English Language Learners (ELLs), their families, and her colleagues. Selected as part of NYS TESOL’s Member of the Month program, Kamola was recognized not only for the excellence she brings to her daily work, but also for the many ways she goes above and beyond to support the ELL community.

Since its launch at the 2014 NYS TESOL Annual Conference, the Member of the Month program has honored individuals who embody the spirit of volunteerism and advocacy in the field of TESOL. Kamola joins a distinguished group of educators who dedicate countless hours after school, serve on committees, mentor colleagues, and serve as reliable resources in the field.
