Driver's Education

Drivers ed sign on car roof at stoplight in daylightDriver education at Gates Chili is a program within Gates Chili Continuing Education. Driver education courses are a comprehensive learn-to-drive program available through a lottery process twice a year.

There are a limited number of spots available, so registration is done by lottery using students’ date of birth. In addition, to participate, students must be: 

  • currently enrolled in high school
  • at least 16 years of age 
  • hold a valid NYS permit

The cost of the program is $500 for district residents and $575 for non-district residents. Flexible payment options are available.
