Your Gates Chili 2025 Wrapped is here. 🎧📚🚌
This year was made up of the everyday moments that keep our district moving forward, plus the big milestones we will remember for years to come. From the first day nerves to graduation celebrations, it took a whole community to make it all happen.

Here’s what we accomplished together, by the numbers.

🏫 Time spent together 🎉
From bell to bell and beyond, our schools were full of learning, milestones and moments that brought families to campus.

1,267 hours of school and learning

That’s 1,267 hours of learning, relationships, routines and growth across our schools. About 1,177 of those hours were instructional time, not counting lunch.

3,976 community events held on our five campuses

From athletic contests to moments filled our schools with applause, pride and connection, creating memories for students and families all year long.

234 kindergarten students started school this fall

This fall was a huge milestone for our newest learners and the start of a brand-new Gates Chili journey for the Class of 2038. We also welcomed another 529 new students across other grade levels!

9,763 members of our community used our fitness center, indoor track and pool

A total of 1,620 Gates Chili residents regularly check in for community use of our facilities throughout the year! The Spartan Field House is open six days a week for community use. To learn more about this community benefit, visit gateschili.org/SpartanFieldHouse.

🚌 Supporting students 🍎
Whether it was getting students to where they need to be or making sure they were ready to learn, support showed up in big ways all year.

1,000,000+ miles driven to 100 different school buildings

With a fleet of 88 buses, our transportation team connected students to programs and opportunities across Monroe County. Thank you to our drivers and staff who make safe, reliable transportation possible.

721,833 free meals served in cafeterias from January through December 2025

Serving free meals helps students stay fueled and ready to learn. GC has offered free meals for all students since we were approved for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in the 2023-24 school year.

✅ Showing up, staying focused and achieving 🎓
When students are present, focused and supported, great things happen and 2025 gave us a lot to celebrate.

94% average daily attendance districtwide

Strong attendance supports learning, connection and long-term success and it takes teamwork to make that happen. Thank you to our families for setting routines, prioritizing getting to school and partnering with us when challenges come up.

3,719 students now learning in a distraction-free environment

In 2025, Gates Chili launched Distraction-Free Schools to support focus, learning and connection during the school day. Thank you to our families and staff for reinforcing consistent expectations and helping students build healthy habits around personal devices, bell to bell.

$1,000,000+ earned in scholarships and awards

These recognitions reflect student dedication, support from families and guidance from staff who help students pursue big goals.

94% graduation rate for the Class of 2025

A proud milestone for our graduates and a reflection of student persistence and the support systems around them. This year’s graduation rate rose from 84% last year and 81% the year before.

👥 Our people ⭐
Behind every student success story is a team of dedicated Spartans who keep learning, growing and showing up for our community.

180 new Spartans were recruited, hired and onboarded since Jan. 1, 2025

We welcomed 180 new team members to Gates Chili this year. Our streamlined onboarding process makes it easier for new staff to complete required trainings and paperwork through a one-stop-shop experience so they can focus on supporting students. 17,933 professional learning hours dedicated to building skills and capacity

Our staff kept learning, too, through in-district offerings during and after the school day, plus conferences and regional opportunities through BOCES and partner organizations, all to strengthen instruction, support student success and keep growing together.

💻 Behind-the-scenes support 🛠️
So much of what makes a school district run happens quietly, and our teams kept things moving every day.

7 brand-new, streamlined district and school websites launched

In June, we launched new district and school websites, making it easier for families and community members to find what they need. The work also streamlined and organized content by consolidating nearly 2,000 webpages into a clearer, more user-friendly experience.

3,827 tech and 4,286 maintenance work orders processed

From device support to software help, our tech team made all 247 workdays count, closing an average of about 16 tickets a day, not including phone calls, emails and verbal requests. Meanwhile, our dedicated facilities team completed requests for maintenance, repairs and the setup and breakdown of events.

517 requests processed for conference rooms, fields and facility use

That’s scheduling across 230 acres and 820,000 square feet of space to support school activities and community programs. From performances at the GPAC to practices and events at the Spartan Field House and Fitness Center, our facilities are here for our community, too.

6,612 payments issued to district vendors for goods and services

These payments include things like utilities, learning materials and other supplies and services to keep the district running. For every paper check issued, there were nine direct deposit payments made, helping to greater security and lower bank fees.

🏗️ Building and planning for the future 🧭
In 2025, we made progress on our spaces and our plans, investing in what’s next for Gates Chili.

60 spaces renovated in the Building Brighter Futures project

Some of the completed spaces include new FACS and technology classrooms at GCHS, and a new main and health office at Florence Brasser! Other areas like music classrooms at the middle school and classrooms and support space at Brasser will be available for students and staff to use in 2026.

2 brand-new multi-purpose fields completed

Another large space that was completed in 2025 was Spartan Park, our district's new state-of-the-art baseball and softball fields, located just south of Gates Chili Middle School, along Buffalo Road. Save the date for the Spartan Park Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, April 10, 2026.

$88 million Future Ready project approved by residents

Thank you to our community for supporting needed building maintenance and improvements to all our buildings. We are proud that this project will have NO TAX IMPACT on our community. Work is expected to begin after the new year in several locations throughout the district.

186 community members engaged in long-range planning

In 2025, 186 faculty, staff, students, parents and guardians, administrators and community residents took part in our comprehensive long-range planning study, meeting with our educational advisors to help guide the next five to 10 years in Gates Chili. We also heard from 165 other community members through a districtwide ThoughtExchange, adding even more voices and perspectives to the process.

Thank you for being part of Gates Chili in 2025.
We are proud of what our students, staff and families accomplished together and we are excited for what’s ahead.
