Gates Chili students shine at SkillsUSA regional competition

Three students representing the Gates Chili Central School District and the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Career and Technical Education program earned top finishes at the SkillsUSA New York Area 1 Regional Competition on March 3.

Collin I. (Carpentry) placed first in Carpentry, Adjoua K. (Medical Laboratory Assisting and Phlebotomy) earned first in Extemporaneous Speaking and Christopher B. (Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance) secured second place in Precision Heavy Equipment Operations.

Altogether, Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES CTE students brought home medals in 12 events, demonstrating the high level of talent and preparation across the program.
The students will now move on to the New York State SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference in Syracuse from April 22-24.
